There are many similarities between Islamic rituals and the worship of Lord Shiva. The Muslim breaks his fast ( Roja ) when he sees the moon and Lord Shiva is known as Chandradhari (the Moon-bearer). There is no image on a shivaling symbol of Shiva) and Islam also does not believe in idols or images. The shivaling is made of black stone and the Kaba, which is called the home of ‘Khuda' (Allah) is also made of black stone. So, we should take inspiration from Lord Shiva, we should take inspiration from spirituality. Know that which is meditated upon by Lord Shiva Himself. It is written in the Shiv Swaroday that a person takes 21,600 breaths in 24 hours. He spends 12 hours in worldly activities, taking rest, eating and drinking and completes 10800 pranayams (breaths). If we remove the last two zeroes, then 108 remains. That is why a rosary, which is associated with the action of breathing, has 108 beads.
