"RAM BULAWA BHEJIA, DIYA KABIRA ROY.
JO SUKH SADHU SANGA MEIN SO BAIKUNTHA NA HOY."
Kabir wept when summoned by the Almighty, because even heaven cannot compare with the joy of satsang.

30 December 2013

"GAFLAT MEIN SONE WALON, NARJANAM NA GANWANA,
VAYDA KIYA JO TOONE, US KOUL KO NIBHANA."
Do not waste your human life in worldly slumbers. You must accomplish the promise that you made to almighty in your mother's Womb.

29 December 2013

Shri Hans Ji Maharaj

As dirty clothes are not cleaned by washing them with mud, so the effect of dirty actions is not cleansed by doing various worldly actions. The mind and heart is purified by devotion after acquiring Spiritual Knowledge of desire less and selfless actions.

28 December 2013

Shanti Vachan

Serve with humility in the court of the Master and be reverent. Do not have ego, otherwise all your service will go to waste.

27 December 2013

Guru Nanak

Only the person who surrenders to the will of God, succeeds. Victory is not possible by any other action. God's will is manifested on those who know the Holy Name of God imparted by the Spiritual Master.

26 December 2013

Sant Mat

If you do not speak from your heart, then you cannot transform the hearts of others.

25 December 2013

Lord Shri Ram

Do you know how the spirit is influenced by pleasure and pain? When iron is burned in fire it appears like fire, and in the same way, when the spirit is reflected through intellect, we feel that it is influenced by pleasure and pain. But, in reality, Spirit is invariable and dispassionate.

24 December 2013

Manan Moti

No one so far has found lasting bliss in wealth. True happiness is achieved by doing one's duty properly and by investing the money thus earned in noble works, in doing spiritual actions and it is unparalleled.

23 December 2013

"BINA VIDHARE JO KARE, SO PACHHE PACHHTAY,
KAM BIGARE APNO, JAG ME HOT HANSAY."
Those who act unthinkingly repent later. Their work is ruined and they become a laughing stock.

22 December 2013

"HIT ANHIT PASHU PAKSHIHU JANA.
MANUSH TAN GUNA GYAN NIDHANA."
Even animals and birds know what is good and bad for them, but a human body is treasure of virtue and knowledge.

18 December 2013

“ Majjan phal pekhiya tatkala. Kak hoy pik bakau marala .” A crow-like person becomes like a cuckoo after swimming in the Ganges of satsang and those behaving like cranes become swans. If you place a mixture of milk and water before a crane, it will either drink the mixture or leave it, but a swan will extract the milk from the mixture and leave the water. Only a swan has the capacity to segregate milk and water from the mixture. It is written that consciousness is not awakened without spiritual discourse.

Satsang

What is that Name which has been so glorified? It is called ‘Ram', because it vibrates everywhere, it is omnipresent. That Name is different. Tell me even one verse in the Ramayana which says we should utter ‘Ram-Ram'. It is written in the Ramayana to remember Ram-Naam: “ Ram nam mani deep dharu, jih dehri dwar. Tulsi bhitar baharo, jo chahasi ujiyar .” (Keep the self-effulgent jewel of the Name on the threshold of your heart if you want illumination both inside and outside). In this verse also, it is written ‘Ram Naam'. “ Nam prabhav jaan ganrau. Pratham pujiyat naam prabhau. ” Ganesh Ji knew the glory of the Name and so he is worshipped first amongst all gods.

16 December 2013

Satsang

“ Naam prabhav jan shiv niko. Kal koot phal dinha ami ko .” Lord Shiva thoroughly understands the glory of ‘Naam' by virtue of which he drank poison and it was transformed into nectar. “ Naam prabhav Shambhu avinashi. Saj amangal mangal rashi. Mangal bhawan amangal hari, uma sahit jehi japat purari .” (Due to the power of the Name Lord Shiva is immortal and the home of blessings). What is that ‘Naam' which Lord Shankar and Uma remember? Today, there is not one person here who follows Lord Rama! He said long ago, “ Aurahun ek sugupta mat, sabahin kahaun kari jori. Shankar bhajan bina nar, bhagati na pawahin mori .” – “I will tell you a secret. Nobody can be truly my devotee unless he does Shiva-meditation”. Mahamantra (the primordial vibration) is that which Lord Shankar also meditates upon. Only this can liberate and is the same thing as the Shankar bhajan (Lord Shiva's meditation), without which nobody can achieve real devotion to Lord Rama. It is said, “ Ram ek tapas tiya tari. Naam koti khal kumati sudhari .” Ram granted redemption to one lady, Ahilya, but the Name has liberated thousands of devotees. “ Ram bhalu kapi katak batora. Setu hetu shram kinha na thora. Naam let bhawshindhu sukhahin karahu vichar sajjan man mahin. ” – Rama enlisted the help of an army of monkeys and bears and with much difficulty built a bridge, whereas simply remembering the Name dries up the ocean of mortality! Let those who are wise wonder about this. What is Shankar bhajan and Mahamantra ? St. Kabir says, “ Tantra mantra sab jhuth hain, mat bharmo sansar. Sar shabda jane bina, koi na utarasi par ”, which means that tantras and mantras are not the real thing, so don't be led astray. But still you are busy chanting mantras. I ask you, when you chant mantras, where is your mind? Your gurus are also entangled in such mantras. “ Shabda bina surati andhari, kaho kahan ko jay. Dwar na pawe shabda ka, phir phir bhatka khay. ” St. Kabir says that this is not meditation and without finding the ‘door' of the Name, you will revolve in the cycle of birth and death. St Tulsidas Ji said, “ Kalyug kewal nam adhara. Sumari sumari nar utarahin para ” which means that in Kaliyug one can get salvation only with the help of the eternal and primordial Name of God.

Satsang

Narad Muni once asked Mata Parvati, “Please ask Lord Shankar why he wears a necklace of human skulls. Some people wear flowers, some wear rudraksha necklaces and some wear pearl necklaces, but Lord Shankar wears a necklace of human skulls. This is very strange.” When Mata Parvati asked Lord Shankar, he laughed and said, “Parvati, these skulls are yours! Whenever you have been born you married me. So I made this rosary of all of your skulls. Now that you have seen it, you will remember how many births you have taken.”

27 November 2013

Direction

Lord Krishna, speaking about such unbounded devotion, said, "I free from all his sins the devotee who surrenders to Me." To achieve such boundless devotion, determination and concentration of mental energy are necessary, When a person's mind wanders, his energy is also weakened. If you try to pick up many objects at once you will drop them. But if you put your mind into too many things your mental energy becomes scattered and its power is dissipated. But when you train your mental energy in one direction, you can make the impossible happen.

26 November 2013

Desire

There is a story about a king who went to a foreign country. He told his queens that he would return after a few days and would bring anything that they wanted. The first queen asked for clothes, the second asked for jewellery, and the third asked for sweets. But the fourth queen wondered, "What should I ask for? It should be something which will give me everything." So she took a piece of red paper, wrote, sa on it and sent it to the king. The king opened the pieces of paper. One queen had written, "Please bring me sweets," another had written," Please bring me clothes." When the king opened the fourth piece of paper he saw that it contained only the letter sa. He wondered what it could mean. Where would he find such a thing? He called his minister and said, "Make some sense out of this." The minister looked at the red paper and the letter sa and he grasped it meaning. He said to the king, "Your Majesty, it means lalsa (which in Hindi means `desire'). Your fourth queen is telling you that she has only one wish, that you should come home to her." So the king was very pleased. He returned home and the presents were distributed to the queens. But he himself went to the palace of the fourth queen, and wherever a king goes, everything will follow him, won't it? So the queen received everything without even asking.

25 November 2013

Devotion

Ek sadhe sab sadhey - The One Way will give you everything. Devotion to God, the Lord of all, will fulfill a person's every desire. That is why you should have boundless devotion for Him. There should be feelings of duality. Satsang germinates the seeds of devotion, the saints cultivate these seeds, and the Master makes them grow. Then the soul reaps the benefit.

24 November 2013

Bring Knowledge to your life

The Ganges of Knowledge will flow within every person who sacrifices. Sacrifice is a very great thing. Devotion is also something very great, and until a person has devotion, he will not prosper spiritually. You cannot get peace from material things. This is something to really think about. Satsang cleanses us of internal dirt in the same way as we wash away external dirt. So think about it, understand it, and bring this Knowledge into your life. Close the gap between reading and hearing about it and actually experiencing it. Achieve liberation just as Arjuna, Hanuman and Nishadraj did.

23 November 2013

Vastness

After Lord Rama left Ayodhya for exile in the forest, his first friend and companion was Nishadraj, the chief of the Nishada tribe. He belonged to a section of society which was despised and considered very low, but he became the Lord's first friend. Such barriers can be broken by the vastness of spiritual knowledge.

22 November 2013

Divine ethics

Mahatma Gandhi had visions of the kingdom of Rama, or the ideal state. All problems would be resolved in such a state, and all people would be uplifted. Even today people still talk about it. But without a Rama there can not be such a state. However, someone who firmly establishes this state within himself can be said to be living in this kingdom. When the numbers of such people increase, this earthly paradise will manifest. Devotion makes a person great. It causes divine ethics to become part of his character.

21 November 2013

God can be seen within

Saint Tulsidas said, "In the Dark Age the only support is the Holy Name, by remembering which a person crosses the worldly ocean." He didn't say that the only support is the United States! Everything will collapse. Those tanks, bombs and weapons which are manufactured to protect us will actually devour us. Four or five atom bombs are enough to wipe out the world. This type of fire is raging in every country, and everyone has become so disturbed. People search for external wealth but the real treasure is within. They are wasting their precious breath, which are the greatest treasure in the world! God dwells within us. He is speaking but man has become so deaf that he can't hear Him. That is why saints tell us to listen the inner voice. They tell us to become introverted and listen. Divine Harmony is going on within you. God is manifest within you. Open your eyes and you will see Him. However, for this you need a path, an objective. If you don't have any, where will you put your mind? The mind is very unstable. That is why the Master gives Knowledge and awakens the desire within the disciple to establish a relationship with the Lord of the breath, to become one with Him. Then God can be seen within.

20 November 2013

Door to Devotion

It doesn't matter how important you were, once you die your body is quickly removed from your house. Even if a storm is raging outside, nobody will consider leaving your corpse indoors a few days longer. Likewise, a wedding ceremony takes place at the appointed time. Trains leave on time and try to arrive on time. All species in this world, whether they live on land, in water or in the air, can gratify their senses, but the human form of life is special, because it is meant for devotion, meditation and experiencing the Divine Light. If you don't reach this goal then it's immaterial whether you have been born as a human being or not. There is no pleasure which can't be experienced in the animal world, but human life is the door to devotion. So what a shame if we don't remember God!

19 November 2013

Parhit

It is said, "sant vitap sarita giri dharmi/parhit hetu saban ki karni" _ only saints and the Master are truly unselfish. This verse names these things which are dedicated to others - saints, the earth, mountains, trees and rivers. For instance, a mango tree bends under the weight of its own fruit. Trees carry this load, come heat, cold or rain, not for themselves, but for others. A river, for example the Ganges, flows day and night. People bathe in this river and it carries away their dirt. It refreshes us in summer, it irrigates our fields and people believe it has the power to wash away sins. It doesn't dry up no matter how much of its water is used. The Ganges flows endlessly not for its own sake, but for the benefit of others.

18 November 2013

Saints

Earth contains so many elements and minerals, our crops grow in it. It gives sugarcane its sweet juice, and the pomegranates their deep red color and pearly seeds. Just think how many types of fruits exist, with an outside skin and inner seed or stone. How has Nature made all these things? Grass and hay come from the earth. Cows eat this and produce milk, which we turn into butter then ghee for cooking delicious sweets and pastries. What good things the earth produces - not for itself, but for you and me. Mountains, trees, rivers, earth and saints are described as selfless. Saints are the best of all. They dedicate themselves to serving others by showing them the way to salvation. It is written that even greater than Rama is the devotee of Rama. God is the ocean while saints are the clouds which carry its moisture. God is the sandalwood tree whose fragrance is carried by the breeze of the saints.

17 November 2013

Satsang

There is endless water in the ocean, its dimensions are fathomless, but seawater is useless for drinking, washing clothes or irrigation because of its salinity. In the same way, God is omnipresent, but so what? But just as the sun draws up water from the sea to form rainclouds, so the saints evaporate our ignorance with their satsang and free us through spiritual knowledge. Then all is bliss.

16 November 2013

How to Know Holy Name

The sandalwood tree is very fragrant. When the wind blows, that scent reaches us, but the tree cannot spread its own perfume. In the same way, even though God is everywhere, in every heart, He can't be seen. But when a saint comes along, he carries the fragrance of God's Holy Name. But saints are only found at satsang. Suppose there are no sandalwood trees in Delhi. Where will the fragrance come from? In the same way, without satsang, you cannot get the fragrance of the Name. Only one who has experienced satsang realizes its importance.

Indriya

There are always negative forces opposing satsang and meditation. In the Ramayana it is written "indriya dwar gharokha nana/tana-tahan sur baithey kari thana/aawat dekhi vishay banjari/tey jhat det kapat ughari". It says that the senses are like doors and windows which are guarded by various deities. For example, you are sitting in meditation and sense-stimuli come to you as if on the wind. Your eyes open to look around, your ears pick up sounds, your nose perceives good and bad smells. No matter how hard you try to overcome them, these gates of the senses take you away from meditation. They have other things they prefer to spirituality. They do all they can to prevent you from achieving liberation, so that you are stuck in the cycle of reincarnation and they have a vehicle for indulging themselves.

11 November 2013

Satsang

Many saints have described the greatness of satsang. St. Kabir said, "Joy or misery depends on the company you keep…...a perfumer may not give anything to you, yet fragrance goes everywhere he does." When St. Kabir was summoned to heaven he was sitting in satsang. He said, "God called me and I wept, because all the joys of heaven can not compare to the joy of satsang." He also said that satsang has instantaneous effects. Persons with a crow-like nature become like cuckoos, whose voice is pleasing to the ear. Crane-like people turn into swans, which can separate milk and water. Only because of satsang did the bandit Ratnakar become a sage.

10 November 2013

Story

Two friends went to another town. One was rich so stayed at a hotel and visited the entertainment spots. The other was poor, but he went to satsang. Once he was returning from satsang and a long nail pierced his foot and made him lame. The rich friend found a treasure chest, but when he opened it he saw that only one golden coin was left and all the rest had turned to dust. The rich one said, "I told you you'd get nothing out of satsang but you wouldn't listen to me. Now look at you! You'd have been better off if you'd stayed with me." The poor man told the whole story to his Guru, who explained, "You were to be killed today, but due to the effect of satsang, all you got was that nail. Your friend found a treasure chest, but because he criticized satsang, all but one coin had turned to dust."

09 November 2013

SatGuru

Even the joy and blessedness of heaven cannot compare with satsang. That is why you should hear satsang daily, serve Guru Maharaj with body and mind, and remember the Holy Name. Then you will grow spiritually. It is like a tripod. If one of the legs breaks it is useless. One realizes the Master through meditation and detachment. Thus it is said, "The Guru is generous and compassionate. He will be merciful to you sooner or later." But only a worthy devotee can receive his mercy. The unworthy cannot. That is why you must obey him. Do whatever he says. That will be to your and everyone's advantage.

08 November 2013

Siddhartha

Motivated by their own grace, the realized souls search for the means to save mankind, and they show mankind the path of salvation in this world. Mankind is crying, "We want peace, we want food, we want clothes," but really, if they have faith in the words of the great souls and follow their ideals, all their problems will be solved. See the history of our saints. Siddhartha was a king's son and lacked nothing. A king's son normally becomes the possessor of all riches, but this wasn't an ordinary prince. After making observations, he wondered, `Is it inevitable that we die?'

30 October 2013

"TANTRA MANTRA SAB JHOOTH HAI,
MAT BHARMO SANSAR.
SAAR SHABDA JANE BINA,
KOI NA UTARASI PAAR."
Do not be fooled by tantras and mantras because all such things are false. No one can cross the worldly ocean without knowing the Primordial Vibration which is the essence of everything.

29 October 2013

"GHAT MEIN HAI SOOJE NAHIN, LANAT AISI JIND.
TULSI YA SANSAR KO BHAYO MOTIABIND."
God is present within our heart but people are unaware of this. Tulsidasji says that everyone is suffering from cataracts. If your eye has a cataract you need to go to an eye surgeon who operates upon your diseased eye and cures it. Similarly, the living Spiritual Master eliminates your cataract of attachment to illusory things with the surgery of Spiritual Knowledge.

28 October 2013

"MAN TO KAHIN AUR DIYA, TAN SADHAN KE SANGA,
KAHE KABIR KORI GAJI, KAISE LAGE RANGA."
While doing meditation, if your mind is wandering in this illusory world and only your body is sitting there, then you will not be benefited at all.

27 October 2013

"TERE GHAT MEN CHETAN DEV, ANDAR JYOTI PYARE KI."
The living God is within your heart and it is all light there. That light cannot be seen by our physical eyes; rather it is experienced only through the divine eye. Only those who have received true Spiritual Knowledge and meditate will experience that light.

26 October 2013

Lord Buddha

As a mother protects her only son even by sacrificing her own life, so the Master goes on inspiring the one amongst all living beings who have known the truth, to tread the true path.

25 October 2013

Shanti Vachan

A servant of the Master should make his conduct such that it becomes a model for others. He should not be under the control of his mind and senses; rather he should have total control over them.

24 October 2013

Swami Ram Krishna Param Hans

A black bee hums until it sits on a lotus and starts drinking the nectar. A man also argues until hi comes face to face with God.

23 October 2013

Jagat janani Shri MataJi

Obedience to the Master is like a fort, one should develop the habit of obedience, then only a man can reform his this world and the world hereafter being settled in meditation.

22 October 2013

Guru Nanak Dev

Sow the seed of good deed in the field of human body, water it with the Holy Name of God, make the heart a farmer, then the seed of God will sprout within your heart and thereafter you will get the harvest of salvation.

08 October 2013

Right Time

The house has several rooms. What will a sensible person do at night? He will close the doors of the house. Then he can do whatever he likes without a care and outsiders will not be able to bother him. Likewise, when all senses are closed off, then anger, lust, attachment, greed, etc. cannot disturb us. When our concentration is inwardly directed, we see divine Light. Now, after that, do you think you need to fast, take holy baths, go on pilgrimage, etc.? Won't your attention stay introverted all the time? If we can keep our mind attuned to the True Name 24 hours a day, then at the time of death we'll be able to remember it also and we'll go to God. There's no telling when this body will be vacated or how. You might get struck by lightening, or encounter a lion in the jungle. You might slip and break your neck, or drown, or die in an earthquake. If it is night time, tell me, what religious services, rituals, pilgrimages, or recitations will you be able to do? www.manavdharam.org

07 October 2013

Holy Name

This is why St. Kabir said, "What guarantee does this body have? It can be finished off in a second. Remember the Holy Name with every breath. There is no other way." This is the only way to reach God, because you just don't know when your time will come. In the Gita, Lord Krishna explains the same thing to Arjuna: "Remember me at all times and fight. If you surrender yourself to me like this, without a doubt you will come to me." This happens through practice and satsang. www.manavdharam.org

06 October 2013

Bhilni

In the course of explaining the nine-fold path of devotion to Bhilni, Lord Rama said, "The first step in devotion is keeping the company of saints. The second is listening to satsang about me with love and attention, and inwardly digesting what you hear. Just by hearing about something, the desire to know it arises."

Keys to Higher Awareness

Purifying your thoughts is a variation on the theme of higher awareness. So you might want to start with a review of the keys to higher awareness. The first three-banishing doubt, cultivating the witness and shutting down inner dialogue- are essential to taming the ego and beginning to recognize and change toxicity to purity. www.manavdharam.org

Free Life

Toxic thinking is a habit of using your mind as an interpreter. Let go of that habit of constant interpretation and begin to live your life free of ego’s comments. Your willingness to confront the ways that you have been thinking is your opening to the purification process. The ability to suspend judgment will allow you to reach the higher ground and experience the richer awareness that goes with the triumph of the higher self over the ego. www.manavdharam.org

15 September 2013

Toxic Thoughts

Just knowing that you can choose less toxic thoughts is an important insight. Many people have never had this insight. Consequently, they spend their entire lives defending the position that their thoughts are unchangeable. You, on your sacred path, know better. You know that who you are is something grander than the thoughts you think and more divine than the body where the thoughts occur. Your thoughts and behaviors are habits. The ways that you have allowed your inner world to work are habits resulting from your experience of your life, including the beliefs that you’ve received from all the well meaning people who taught you about life. To purify your thinking and make your mind work exactly as you want it to be willing to examine these habits of thought. Then you will begin the purifying process and see the opening to your sacred self. www.manavdharam.org

Apara & Para Vidya

Man is essentially spirit, or in other words, consciousness. To know consciousness, to experience it and to realize it is the path of spiritual knowledge. Knowledge has two aspects- material and spiritual. In the material domain it is called 'Apara Vidya' and pertains to all physical and social sciences. In the spiritual domain it is called 'Para Vidya' and pertains to self-realization, the experience of the soul. Science of soul itself implies the science of universal life. The science of the spirit is a sovereign science, a sovereign secret, imperishable, supremely holy, most excellent, directly enjoyable, full of virtues and very easy to practice. It is itself both the means and the end - the immediate and the ultimate. It is all comprehensive and all-inclusive, and knowing it means nothing remains to be known. It is the saturation of the self, the merging of the individual self with the Cosmic Self. It cannot be achieved through senses, mind or intellect. It is experienced by the self through the self by the grace of the realized Master. Knowledge is the means, and Knowledge also is the destination. In Divine Knowledge there must be no duality. It is just one point. www.manavdharam.org

13 September 2013

Knowledge

"The knowledge of God is the purest thing on earth. By receiving that Knowledge, by coming in contact with the Knowledge we can also become pure. 'People say, 'Meditate on God.' How can you meditate on God without knowing God? First have Knowledge of God. www.manavdharam.org

12 September 2013

Holy Knowledge

'By this Holy Knowledge a Buddhist can know what the Buddha taught, a Christian can know what Christ taught, a Muslim can know what Mohammed taught, a Hindu can know what Krishna and Rama taught, because this is the empirical, this is the essence. An iron piece becomes a magnet by contact with a magnet, and similarly, when a person's consciousness comes in contact with this Knowledge, the person becomes divine. The difference between a magnet and a simple piece of iron is the arrangements and settings of the molecules. In a magnet, all the molecules are aligned in one direction while in the piece of iron they have haphazard patterns. Similarly, the difference between a person who meditates on Knowledge and a man who doesn't is that the consciousness of the former is single-pointed while in the latter it is diffused and scattered. www.manavdharam.org

11 September 2013

No Darkness

Ignorance is merely the absence of knowledge. There is no such thing as darkness; the absence of light is darkness. Then there is the multiplicity of shapes and forms which is nothing but the vicious circle of illusion. Duality of perception ends only after one receives Knowledge. www.manavdharam.org

10 September 2013

Shri Hans Ji Maharaj

The Spiritual Master is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and surrender to the Master is considered to be surrender to God. To surrender to the Master is the highest from of devotion.

09 September 2013

Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj

Self contemplation is not at all possible without the spiritual Knowledge. This Knowledge is beyond any language. Only the living Master can impart Knowledge and only then will self-contemplation (the process of spiritual life) begin.

08 September 2013

"VASTU AMOLAK DAI MERE SATGURU,
KARI KRIPA APNAYO.
KHARACH NA HOWE CHOR NA LEWE,
DIN-DIN BHARAT SAWAYO.
PAYO JI MAINE, NAM RATAN DHAN PAYO."
My Satguru has given me the priceless jewel of Name. He has graced me and accepted me. Neither thief can steal it nor it is spent and exhausted, rather it goes on increasing day by day.

07 September 2013

"HARI KRIPA TE SANT BHETIYA,
NANAK MAN PRAKASH."
By the grace of God I, Nanak, met a true saint and my mind is full of light.

06 September 2013

"KABAHUN MAN RANG TARANG CHARHE,
KABAHUN MAN SOCHAT HAI DHANKO.
KABAHUN TIYA DEKH KE CHITTA CHALE,
KABAHUN MRIG HOY CHALE BAN KO.
TULSI DAS KAHE KEHI VIDHI,
SAMJHAUN ES KAPATI MAN KO."
Sometime the mind wants good horses, big palace, etc. Another time it hankers for wealth, at still another moment it feels lust for a beautiful woman, another time it wants to move freely like a deer in the forest. Tulsidas Ji asks how can he tame this deceitful mind? We should search for true living Spiritual Master and acquire the Spiritual Knowledge from him.

03 September 2013

"SUMIRAN KI SUDH YON KARO, JAISE DAM KANGAL.
EK PALAK BISARE NAHI, PAL PAL LEYA SAMBHAL.
SUMIRAN KI SUDH YOUN KARO, JYON SURABHI SUT MAHIN.
KAHE KABIR CHARA CHARAT, BISARAT KABAHUN NAHIN.
SUMIRAN KI SUDH YON KARO, JYON GAGAN PANIHAR.
HALE DOLE SURATI MEIN, KAHAT KABIR VICHARI."
So remember the Name like that miser. He does not forget about his money even for a moment and each moment his remembrance is ever fresh. Remember the Holy Name like the cow who has given birth to a calf recently and keeps her gaze continuously on him. Even while grazing in the field she does not forget about her newly born calf. Remember like the ladies who carry water in the pitchers, one above the other, on their head. They may move their hands but they keep their mind fixed on their pitchers such that the pitchers do not fall. Without touching their pitchers with their hands, they mentally balance those pitchers on their head. Likewise, while doing our daily tasks, we should keep our attention hooked to the Holy Name.

"SAHAJ HI DHUN HOT HAI, HARDAM GHAT KE MAHIN.
SURATI SHABDA MELA BHAYA, MUKH KI HAJAT NAHIN.
SUMIRAN SURATI LAGAY KE, MIKH SE KACHHU NA BOL.
BAHAR KE PAT DEYA KE, ANDAR KE PAT KHOL."
Deep within us, a continuous sound is playing automatically. When the mind becomes one with the Primordial Word, nothing needs to be uttered verbally. By hooking the 'surati' to the Primordial Word you need not say anything. Close the outer door and open the inner one.

"KOTI NAAM SANSAR MEIN, TATE MUKTI NA HOY.
ADI NAAM JO GUPTA JAP, BOOJHE, BIRLA KOY."
There are thousands of names of God in this world but they won't liberate you. Only a rare person knows the Primordial Name which is remembered secretly within.

Human Life

We think that animals must be happy. We see a dog riding along in a car and we think that it is being very well looked-after. But you haven't seen a dog cooking its own food, have you? Cows give milk but you won't see a cow cooking milk-pudding. They have to eat whatever they are given. Theirs is a passive existence. A human life, on the other hand, is an active existence. People can create karmas. We can see how much humanity has achieved. We read in the Ramayana that Ravana made all the deities serve him, and this surprises us. But today, due to science, we can push a button and turn on a fan - we have conjured up the `wind-god'! We push a button and on goes the heater - we have invoked the `fire-god'! We push a button to turn on the light — we have invoked the `sun-god'! So we can see how much mankind has accomplished. You don't have to be a bird to fly - now we have aeroplanes. You don't have to become an elephant to do heavy work - we have bulldozers which can do the work of an elephant. In other words, people can do actions and suffer or enjoy the consequences of action, too. Really, human beings have so much potential. We are a bundle of energies, we have so much power. But we have turned our attention outwards and are just racing. We have done so much, but we haven't been able to go within ourselves, and this is why we lack peace. www.manavdharam.org

Story

Once a poor brahmin went to a king and begged for alms. The king agreed to give him something but wanted him first to answer some questions. His first question was, "Why don't you have hair on the palms of your hands?" The brahmin was taken aback. He quickly remembered God and, after careful thought, replied, "Your Majesty, I am just a poor brahmin. My hands are always outstretched to beg. I live through others' donations, and that is why my palms are hairless." The king then asked, "Very well. Tell me why I don't have hairy palms. " The brahmin again remembered God and answered boldly, "Your Majesty, you are always giving. Your hands are always giving to others so how could hair grow on your palms?" "Very good," answered the king. "Now tell me why these courtiers, who neither give nor receive, don't have hairy palms." The brahmin replied, "It's like this. You keep on giving and I keep on taking. Your courtiers see this and it makes them wring their hands, so how could hair grow on their palms, either?" So into which category do we fall? Are we receivers or just hand-wringers? There are plenty of people who simply wring their hands. www.manavdharam.org
