Those on the spiritual path have to put up with all kinds of comments from people around them from time to time. The world contains both good and bad people and some are quite demonic. But we should not let what they say upset us; we should not lose our patience, but continue along the path of Truth. If a disciple has unshakeable faith and determination, he can do this. Difficulties and adverse situations naturally arise from time to time. The sun is very far away yet its rays manage to reach the earth. Sometimes clouds cover it but they do not stay forever. The sun is only temporarily obscured. If a pond is covered with moss you will not be able to see your reflection, but once the moss is cleared away, you can. In the same way, if a person so wishes, his good actions help him along the right path and he can achieve his life's goal; he can reach the highest spiritual state.
