Parhit

It is said, "sant vitap sarita giri dharmi/parhit hetu saban ki karni" _ only saints and the Master are truly unselfish. This verse names these things which are dedicated to others - saints, the earth, mountains, trees and rivers. For instance, a mango tree bends under the weight of its own fruit. Trees carry this load, come heat, cold or rain, not for themselves, but for others. A river, for example the Ganges, flows day and night. People bathe in this river and it carries away their dirt. It refreshes us in summer, it irrigates our fields and people believe it has the power to wash away sins. It doesn't dry up no matter how much of its water is used. The Ganges flows endlessly not for its own sake, but for the benefit of others.
