"BHAJAN BIN BAIL BIRANE HOIYO.
PANW CHAR SIR SING GOONG MUKH,
TAB GUN KAISE GAIYO.
TOOTE KANDH SUFATI NAKANI,
KODHON LON BHUS KHAIYO
UTHAT BAITHAT  LAKUT BAJIHAIN,
TAB KAHAN MUND DURAIYO
SHEET GHAM GHAN VIPAT GHANERI,
BHAR TARE MAR JAIYO.
HARIDASAN KO KAHA NA MANAT, KIYO APNO PAIYO.
'SOORDAS' BHAGWANT BHAJAN BIN,
VRITHA JANMA GANWAIYO."
Without meditation on God, you will have to become an ox. You will have four legs and horns on your head. You will be speechless, so how will you sing the glory of God? People will beat you and blood will be oozing from your shoulders. You will have to eat dry straw. They will beat you with sticks to make you stand up, then where will you hide your head? You will have to put up with the cold of winter and heat of summer under the open sky and even then they will put heavy loads on your back which you will have to carry. After you are born, humans will drink your mother's milk while you will be given dry husks to eat. You will have to put up with various troubles and then none of your relatives will come to help you. Now, you occupy yourself with your family, your wife, children and all but you do not listen to the saints and Divine Persons who tell you time and again to attend satsang and to acquire Spiritual Knowledge. You do not believe in the words of the saints that, without doing devotion, one becomes an ox, or camel or a pig and is put to various troubles. Surdas says, O brother, without devotion your human life is going to waste. So, put laziness aside, think about the pros and cons and take to the devotional path.
