Ignorance
is merely the absence of knowledge. There is no such thing as darkness;
the absence of light is darkness. Then there is the multiplicity of
shapes and forms which is nothing but the vicious circle of illusion.
Duality of perception ends only after one receives Knowledge.

Shri Hans Ji Maharaj
The Spiritual Master is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and surrender to the Master is considered to be surrender to God. To surrender to the Master is the highest from of devotion.

Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj
Self contemplation is not at all possible without the spiritual Knowledge. This Knowledge is beyond any language. Only the living Master can impart Knowledge and only then will self-contemplation (the process of spiritual life) begin.

"VASTU AMOLAK DAI MERE SATGURU,
KARI KRIPA APNAYO.
KHARACH NA HOWE CHOR NA LEWE,
DIN-DIN BHARAT SAWAYO.
PAYO JI MAINE, NAM RATAN DHAN PAYO."
My Satguru has given me the priceless jewel of Name. He has graced me and accepted me. Neither thief can steal it nor it is spent and exhausted, rather it goes on increasing day by day.

"KABAHUN MAN RANG TARANG CHARHE,
KABAHUN MAN SOCHAT HAI DHANKO.
KABAHUN TIYA DEKH KE CHITTA CHALE,
KABAHUN MRIG HOY CHALE BAN KO.
TULSI DAS KAHE KEHI VIDHI,
SAMJHAUN ES KAPATI MAN KO."
Sometime the mind wants good horses, big palace, etc. Another time it hankers for wealth, at still another moment it feels lust for a beautiful woman, another time it wants to move freely like a deer in the forest. Tulsidas Ji asks how can he tame this deceitful mind? We should search for true living Spiritual Master and acquire the Spiritual Knowledge from him.

"SUMIRAN KI SUDH YON KARO, JAISE DAM KANGAL.
EK PALAK BISARE NAHI, PAL PAL LEYA SAMBHAL.
SUMIRAN KI SUDH YOUN KARO, JYON SURABHI SUT MAHIN.
KAHE KABIR CHARA CHARAT, BISARAT KABAHUN NAHIN.
SUMIRAN KI SUDH YON KARO, JYON GAGAN PANIHAR.
HALE DOLE SURATI MEIN, KAHAT KABIR VICHARI."
So remember the Name like that miser. He does not forget about his money even for a moment and each moment his remembrance is ever fresh. Remember the Holy Name like the cow who has given birth to a calf recently and keeps her gaze continuously on him. Even while grazing in the field she does not forget about her newly born calf. Remember like the ladies who carry water in the pitchers, one above the other, on their head. They may move their hands but they keep their mind fixed on their pitchers such that the pitchers do not fall. Without touching their pitchers with their hands, they mentally balance those pitchers on their head. Likewise, while doing our daily tasks, we should keep our attention hooked to the Holy Name.

"SAHAJ HI DHUN HOT HAI, HARDAM GHAT KE MAHIN.
SURATI SHABDA MELA BHAYA, MUKH KI HAJAT NAHIN.
SUMIRAN SURATI LAGAY KE, MIKH SE KACHHU NA BOL.
BAHAR KE PAT DEYA KE, ANDAR KE PAT KHOL."
Deep within us, a continuous sound is playing automatically. When the mind becomes one with the Primordial Word, nothing needs to be uttered verbally. By hooking the 'surati' to the Primordial Word you need not say anything. Close the outer door and open the inner one.
