Saint Kabir

Remembrance of the Holy Name is the sum and substance of life, all other are simply thorny thoughts which trap one in different entanglements from the beginning to the end.

SERVICE (SEVA)
We have come to the Guru-Darbar, to the court of the Master, to the Court of the Holy Knowledge, and we should do whatever service we can. There is no such thing here as more important service and less important service. Service is service, it is the highest form of tapasya (self-sacrifice) and yields the greatest merit. So whenever we get the chance to do service, we should do it with a loving heart and this yields great rewards. There is a saying, "Drop by drop is the ocean filled up." A wall is built by placing one brick on top of another. All our ashrams have been built by premies. so do service. Service will make your mind calm and concentrated so you will be able to meditate better, for unless a person's mind is introverted, he will not be able to realize the Divine Energy within himself. The great saints and Spiritual Masters always inspired and encouraged their disciples to work. No saint ever told his disciples to sit back and relax. School teachers prefer students who work hard at their studies. They never say, "Do not study-I will do your exam for you." No, They always encourage their students to work even harder. In the same way, the message of the spiritual Masters has always been that salvation comes through service. But it should be service with meditation. This world has everything, but a man who does nothing gets nothing. So a wise disciple meditates and also serves. Just sitting and wishing for food will not bring that food to you. You have to do something So Knowledge is a path of meditation and service.

FOLLOW THE PATH OF THE MASTERS
We have to reawaken to original, universal religion, 'manav dharam', which reaches that first and foremost we are human beings. The weakness of modern religions is that they can not impart the same experience. Was religion meant to trun people against each other? That is not the aim of religion, but religious teachers have become so worldly that the do not know what religion really is. Muslims do not know the power of Allah. Even though Hindus read in the Ramayana how Rama ate fruit which His humble devotee Bhilni, a low-caste woman, had already tasted, they still believe that a temple is defiled if a low-caste person enters it. They are showing by their behavior that they do not believe that the same God created everyone. I urge everyone to break free of blind faith and superstition and follow the path of the Masters whom we worship.
