How does a person overcome weakness?
Any weakness which a person has basically comes from the weakness of his mind. For example, if your stomach is not functioning properly, your body will get sick. In the same way, if your mind is not concentrated, if your mind is not getting the proper spiritual food, there will be weaknesses. So, directly and indirectly, when a person meditates, the meditation itself will removes all the weaknesses that he sees through introspection. Through Knowledge, one is contented in himself. Through meditation, all the desired results are achieved. For example, I am sitting in a car. Even though my vision, my power to see, is perfectly normal, if there is dust on the windscreen I cannot see properly. So what I do is, get out of the car, clean the windshield and then I can see properly. Likewise, right before a meditator are all his karmas on the windscreen. The karmas are simply there, clouding his vision. “Simply by shooting an arrow into the sky I can tie the sky into one bundle, but I cannot control this mind”, said Arjuna. His karmas were right there before him. That is why patience is necessary.
If you have perfect concentration, you’ll have a perfect experience. If your concentration is lacking, you’ll have a different experience. It depends on your efforts. One day your effort is there and you have complete concentration. You put all your efforts there and you can concentrate. Effort itself is karma.

How can we actually see and know God for sure?
We have to break these three dimensions, because man is a three-dimensional being. If you go past these dimensions, then you can see. That is why the scriptures talk about being above, overcoming the sensory organs, mind and intellect. If you pass beyond them, if you overcome them, you can see God as God is. Otherwise, you’ll be perceiving God either with your intellect or with your mind, and trying to make God something which God is not. That is why the scriptures say that people have to go beyond mind and intellect, they have to transcend all the working organs and sensory organs (karmindriya and gyanindirya). Cross over them, jump over them and then experience God as God is. Otherwise, the experience of God will not be pure, it will be diluted.

How can we know what is the proper balance in our lives?
The more you meditate, the more balance you’ll have in life. A person who doesn’t meditate can’t understand that, but people who have done meditation understand that the more you meditate the more balance you get. You have worldly obligations, and you blend spirituality with them. You say, “I have to work this much for my living and this much action performed in the world will give me enough food and clothing, enough time for my spiritual practice.” I think that it is on the basis of the spiritual experience that you can balance yourself. It naturally happens. When you throw a log into the water it does not swim - it does not have the power to swim. It floats with the water. So in meditation you throw yourself into that stream of life, it picks you up and you can go with that.

DON’T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS BREATHS ON WORLDLY THINGS

There is a song that says, “Did you learn to love God easily? Do you think that it is very easy to love God?” In this song there are many stories. One is of King Moradhwaj and how he proved his love for God.

Once, Lord Krishna observed that Arjuna was thinking himself to be a great devotee. Arjuna's ego was growing and this was not in his best interest. So Lord Krishna disguised himself and Arjuna in the yellow robes of saints and took him to see King Moradhwaj. They took a lion with them. The king received them because they were saints and showed them respect and offered them everything. Then he requested that they eat some food.
Lord Krishna said that he and the other saint would eat only if the lion ate. The king asked, “What kind of food does your lion eat?” Lord Krishna said, “He can eat only the flesh of your son and only if you and your queen cut him up with a saw and you do it without shedding a single tear. Then alone can my lion eat the flesh of your son. So, if one tear comes into your eyes the lion will refuse to eat and if the lion refuses to eat we also will not eat”. The king said that this was fine with him, but since his queen was also involved he asked permission to consult her.
The queen also agreed and said, “Our son is also involved, so let us consult him.” They consulted him and he also agreed. They all felt that what could be better than offering one's body in the service of saints? A chair was brought. The son just sat there and the queen and king cut off his head without a tear in their eyes. Then that flesh was offered to the lion, and he ate it. When Arjuna saw this, he realized that there were greater devotees than himself, devotees who would offer even their own son, cutting him with their own hands at the instructions or demand of a saint.
When it was done, food was prepared and the saints were invited to eat. Two plates were served and Lord Krishna asked for a third plate. The third plate was brought and then Lord Krishna asked the king to call his son. The king said, “Why are you giving further pain to me? You have already seen that my son was killed and given to the lion. What more do you want? Now I no longer have a son. I had only one son and you saw that happened to him. How can I call my son?” Then Lord Krishna said, “Do you want to obey me or not? I'm asking you to call your son. Why don't you call him?” So King Moradhwaj called his son by name, and his son came into the room. Then King Moradhwaj realized that this had simply been a test. But he had to suffer all these things without knowing the reality and he did it happily.
So, King Moradhwaj knew how to love God. Because of love he sacrificed so much. Do you think you know how to love your Lord? If it comes to that level, will our love stand the Lord's test? Because to love the Lord may be very difficult at times. It's not easy to love the Lord, or to know how to love the Lord.

Vidurani was so devoted that when Lord Krishna came to her house, she wanted to offer him something. But she was so much in love that she lost her senses. She was peeling a banana to offer to her Lord, and do you know what she did? She offered the peel to the Lord and threw away the banana! Lord Krishna did not question it; he did not ask, ‘What are you doing?' He started eating the peel with great pleasure! Then Vidurani's husband came and saw that she was offering the banana peel rather than the pulp and said to her, “What are you doing? Have you gone mad? You are offering a banana peel to Lord Krishna!” Then she realised her mistake and she apologized and requested the Lord to forgive her, and she threw away the banana skin and offered the fruit instead.
.Lord Krishna ate the banana, but said, “Vidurani, it doesn't taste as delicious as the peels you offered me before!” So what made the difference? The real banana was not as tasty as the peel because at that time she had forgotten herself, she was so immersed in her love for the Lord that even the peel tasted good to him. When she became aware of what she was doing, the actual fruit did not have that same taste.
So that's the theme of the song: “Who thinks that it is easy to love the Lord? Have you learned to love the Lord very easily? It's not as easy as you think or as it seems.”
All these devotees had some technique, some knowledge on the basis of which they did all these things. What they did was not only for themselves; they got salvation in their life, but they also left something for others and created history. Not only does the person who narrates these stories weep, but the person who listens also weeps. Why? Because there is so much love, so much sacrifice, written in the histories of those great souls.
Saints say we must care only for the Holy Name and for nothing else. Guru Nanak Dev said that in this world the only thing worth worrying about is the Holy Name. If we have to think, we should think about the Holy Name. We should not concern ourselves with anything else in this world. This Holy Name alone is important.
Then comes light. Lord Krishna said that the light of fire, sun and moon can be seen by everybody, but these lights do not give you that bliss, that tremendous happiness which comes from the self-illuminating light, that light which is the light of the Lord. That is the light we must care about. We should not care about anything else in this world. Other things are not worth worrying about.
The third thing we should care about is divine music. The sounds made by musical instruments that we all listen to will not take us to that highest state where we can realize complete, absolute bliss. It can give us temporary happiness, temporary pleasure, but it cannot give us absolute bliss, it cannot take us to that highest state. Therefore we have to know that divine music which takes us to the absolute bliss, absolute pleasure. We must care for that divine music, not for anything else in this world.
When a man seeks worldly pleasure, he is ready to sacrifice anything and everything. He is not lazy. He can go to work, he can do everything, he has time for that, but when it comes to spirituality, when it comes to listening to satsang and to remembering and meditating on the Holy Name, then he has all sorts of excuses. He has no time, he feels lazy, he feels sleepy, he has this problem, that problem. Why is it so? Why does it happen? Why is it happening with everybody? The answer is that the senses want to enjoy worldly pleasures all the time and they keep the thoughts in a human mind busy. They don't let the mind go to spirituality, to Holy Name, to meditation. That's why it is said that if you want to give satsang, or if you want to talk about scriptures, you can do so only to a few people: out of thousands, there are few who will listen to satsang.
St. Kabir says, “O mind, listen. I'm declaring to the beat of a drum that these breaths are very valuable. All the wealth of the three worlds will not buy you one more breath. You are wasting such valuable breaths every day, every moment, enjoying worldly pleasures. These breaths which you are just wasting - every day, every moment - will never come again. You have to offer this holy breath to the Lord who has given it to you. Don't misuse it; don't let it go to waste. Put it to some good use. Offer it to the Lord, who has given this breath to you.”

THE WAY TO INTEGRAL PEACE AND HAPPINESS

The real Name of God is ever-existent and self-sufficient in all beings. It is the sole generator of life. The difference between a living body and a dead body is the presence or absence of the Holy Name. This Name cannot be written in any alphabet nor can it be uttered.

It is the eternal and secret sound of a vibration which has to be known, and just as fire has the inherent capacity to burn, the Holy Name has the inherent capacity to purify the mind. Hence it changes a man's nature, making him pure and shining with bliss. Only meditation on this real Name of God can give a man this inner quality of Knowledge. All the scriptures of the world refer to this Holy Name, the secret vibration of life within. In the Upanishads it is called ‘ Nam ', in the Ramayana it is called ‘ Ram Nam ' and ‘Mahamantra ' (‘The great Mantra'). In the Koran it is called‘Pak Nam ' (‘True Name'), in the Guru Granth Sahab it is called ‘ Sat Nam ' and in the Bible it is called ‘Word'. It is this Name which can be meditated upon constantly, without interruption, while we are asleep and while we are awake, while we are conscious and while we are unconscious. No other action can be done at all times and under all circumstances. But meditation on this Holy Name is possible at all times and under all circumstances, if one has been shown the sacred technique.
The next question is how the Divine Light can be seen and the Holy Name known. The answer is, that just as a candle can be lit only by the touch of a burning flame, so the instantaneous seeing of the Light is possible only by the touch of an enlightened soul and invariably so. The same applies to the experience of Holy Name, the Primordial Vibration, for being unwritable, it cannot be found in books and, being absolutely unspeakable, it cannot be heard from anyone's lips. It is wrong to think that actual utterance or mental repetition of any of the descriptive names of God can purify the heart and bring about the seeing of the Divine Light. If this were so, then the majority of people would be enlightened and peace, brotherhood and understanding would prevail, for most of the world pays homage to one or another of the many names for God. The Name is God Himself within man and not just a verbal representation of Him.

Another commonly-held but equally mistaken belief is that Divine Light can be seen by the grace of Masters no longer in a physical body. No matter how great a surgeon's reputation may be, if he is dead he cannot perform even the simplest operation. A living patient must have a living doctor. Likewise only the living Master can reveal the living Light and living Word. “As long as I am in the world I am the Light of the world”, said Lord Jesus, and all great Masters who revealed that Light to their disciples have said the same thing. If it is true that enlightenment can be had from a Master who no longer lives a physical form, then all those who today follow and worship Lord Krishna and Lord Jesus would have this Knowledge of Holy Word and Divine Light. But this is not the case. Jesus Christ and Lord Krishna both embodied the Light and revealed the Light, but only to those devotees who were alive at the same time as they were. For us today it is necessary to find the living Master. If the touch of an enlightened soul is absolutely necessary to get this Knowledge, how can it be possible to get it from a Guru who has left his mortal body?
Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammad would not have called upon the people of their times to come into their shelter and consecrate mind, body and actions to them. Lord Rama could have said, “Seek the shelter of Narayana.” Lord Krishna could have told Arjuna,” Seek the shelter of Lord Rama.” Jesus Christ could have told people to seek the shelter of some previous Master. But they did not say so simply because they were enlightened and they knew perfectly well that past enlightened souls cannot help the average aspirant to attain enlightenment.
The last question is, how to get the Knowledge from the enlightened soul? Lord Krishna said,” Attain this Knowledge by all means. If you prostrate yourself at the feet of the tatwadarshi (seer or enlightened soul), serve him in every way and ask him sincerely for this Knowledge, when he is pleased he will impart it to you.” This is the only way of getting that knowledge. There is absolutely no other way. But the problem is how to recognize the enlightened Guru? The word ‘Guru' means ‘the person who can show the Light within'. The term ‘ gu ' stands for darkness and ‘ru ' means light. Hence, one who can show self-effulgent Light within you, and thereby instantaneously remove the darkness, should be taken as the real tatwadarshi guru.
Thus we see that the only way of bringing about an improvement in human behaviour is the acquisition of this true Knowledge with the help of a living realized soul. The aims of human life - unalloyed happiness, deliverance from all suffering and salvation from the bondage of death and rebirth - can be attained by immersing the mind in the Divine Light and constantly meditating on the Real Name.
Non-stop meditation on the Name gives mental equanimity, stability, tranquillity and complete concentration which in turn brings true peace. Hence peace in the world can be achieved by helping each individual to achieve control over the mind. No other methods - disarmament, ban on nuclear tests, negotiation, world government or the like - can bring true peace. Unless the very instinct of doing harm to others is transformed into the instinct of love for all, true peace is never possible. Control over each individual mind is absolutely necessary for peace.
Since the individual is the primary unit of a nation and ultimately the world, the peace of individuals alone can bring peace at large. In no way peace is possible with an agitated and unsteady mind. The question may arise as to whether an individual can attain perfect stillness of mind, whether every single individual can be given this Knowledge. Most people in this world have some kind of academic education which usually takes many years to acquire, whereas this Knowledge can be acquired in the blink of an eye. And, as such, it will not take much time to disseminate this Knowledge to everyone, provided adequate facilities for reaching the masses are made available.
Since Divine Light is seen within and the Holy Name is known within, their realization gives a person complete understanding, of the source of life itself. The entire universe emanates from this source and so by knowing that all is known. The result is constant and unchanging peace and happiness and the deathless state of self-realization achieved. It is the time that world leaders try to spread this Knowledge if they really wish for peace. The individual should concentrate his mind if he wants to achieve the highest aim in life. This is the only way to integral peace and happiness.

7] Sahastrar (Limbic Plexus)
Nobody can reach to this chakra without blessing of True Spiritual Master. So Human's only goal in life is to find True Spiritual Master and take Knowledge of Self-Realisation from him with his blessings.

6] Agya (Optical Chiasma)
It is the chakra of forgiveness and compassion. Forgiveness is the power to let go of anger, hatred and resentment and to discover humility, nobility, and generosity. It is the one that dissolves all our ego, conditioning, habits, false ideas of racialism, and all our misidentifications. It is the narrow gate, which opens the way for consciousness to ascend to its final destination, which is the seventh centre. Roving eyes, watching impure things, or self-centreedness damage this chakra. Watching the sky, earth or nature can help cleanse it.

11 October 2009

We are very fortunate to have this opportunity to start a spiritual journey. I am going to take you on a spiritual journey, into the spiritual world, and that is possible by knowing the spiritual Knowledge. When we take a physical journey and sit in a plane, what is the first thing that we do? We fasten our seatbelt. On the spiritual journey we have to fasten the mind; it is the mind that makes us devilish, it is the mind that makes us divine. The scriptures say that it is the mind that is the cause of bondage; it is the mind that is the cause of freedom. The mind is also the cause for getting us into trouble and it is also the cause for liberation. If the mind knows the Word of God, if the mind knows the Knowledge, the mind is liberated.

For example, there is a blind man in a big room. He touches the wall, he feels his way along the wall. And just as he approaches the door, he scratches himself and just keeps on walking. Because he has missed the door, he has to walk around the room again by touching the wall and finally he says, “There is no way out.” So he is completely trapped in the room, because he did not find the door. In the same way, through meditation, through Knowledge, when we find the door, that spiritual door leads us to liberation. All the scriptures, the ancient scriptures, talk about Knowledge.
When Lord Christ was asked by some disciples, “There are many commandments, so which is the most important commandment?” he replied that the most important commandment is, First ye shall seek the kingdom of heaven, and all other things shall be added unto you . So, if you are liberated, the mission of your life is completed, the aim of your life is completed. That is why we go to a Spiritual Teacher. For example, if I have to learn English, I go to an English teacher. If somebody has to learn Spanish, he has to go to a Spanish teacher. If somebody wants to learn science, he goes to a science teacher. In the same way, to learn spirituality, we go to a Spiritual Teacher.
Even John the Baptist said, “I am not worthy to tie the shoelaces of the one who is going to come.” And the Master gave the understanding to understand scriptures; he gave the spiritual Knowledge to go within ourselves. Because through the senses, through the working organs and sensory organs, we are going outside. But through spiritual Knowledge we go within ourselves, and that is why the scriptures proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is within you, and to enter it you have to be born again. So the disciples asked the Master, “Do we have to enter our mother's womb to be born again?” And the Master said, “No.” With the physical birth, we are aware of our body, we are aware of heat, pain, cold. But when we attain spiritual Knowledge we are conscious of our own consciousness. We are aware of the power which is within us, which makes us conscious of this entire world. So the person who has Knowledge sees his spirit and with the spirit, having the knowledge of the spirit, he becomes liberated.
I will give an analogy, an example from the Vedas. A person came to a Master and he asked him the question, “By what light does a man see in the daytime?” The disciple replied that during the day a person sees everything by the light of the sun. The Master asked him, “When the sun sets, there is no sun, by what light does a man see?” The disciple answered, “The moon shines at night and by the light of the moon a man sees everything.” The Master again questioned, “When there is no moon, when there is absolute darkness, by what light does a man see?” The disciple answered, “By the light of fire, one perceives.” Again he asked, “When there is no fire, when there are no stars, when there is no moon, when there is no sun, when there is total, absolute darkness, how does a man perceive?” So the disciple answered, “By the light of sound, a person perceives.” When there is total darkness, we shout from one end to the other. So again the Master asked, “When there is no sound, when there is no speech, when there is no fire, when there is no moon, no sun, how does a man perceive?” And the disciple answered that by the power of the breath, which is called prana , the power of breathing in and breathing out, one sees everything.
So, what we are talking about is the breath, because when “God made man, he made man from the dust of ground, he breathed into his nostrils and man became a living soul”. Within everybody God has breathed the breath of life and we are living beings. Without the breath we cease to exist and this is why our scriptures have told us to know this breath, know the Ã©lan vital . What is the power which makes you live? And knowing that is the Knowledge of God. “God made man in his own image, in the image of God man was created.” And what is that one image?
People are fingerprinted, because everybody's fingerprint is different. People have their photo on their passport, because their photos are different, their faces are different. One person's retina map is different from another person's. Our DNA is different. So in the physical world things are different, but God is one. And in one image, in His own image, He has created us. So what is that image of God in which we all have been created? People in Mexico , people in America , people in India , people in China may speak different languages, our color may be different, our creed may be different, but God is one, His image is one and He has made us in His own image. So that image is the élan-vital, the prana .
I would like to give you an example. Jesus Christ was fasting, he had faith in God, and he was fasting for forty days. The Devil comes to him, the negativity comes to him, worldly doubts come to him, and they question him, “You believe in God, you are fasting for forty days, you are hungry for bread, you are thirsty for water, why don't you command your God, why don't you pray to your God, so that all these stones may turn to bread for you, and that you may eat the bread and live.” And Lord Christ replied, “Man does not live on bread alone, but he lives on the Word that God utters within him.” So within our breath, in all the life breaths we take, God is uttering a Word. And that is why in the Gospel of John it is written, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
I am speaking many words into the microphone. If you scientifically analyze them, you will find my vocal chords are vibrating, this vibration is being amplified by the amplifier, the molecules in the air are vibrating, the vibration is going to your eardrums and you listen to what I am saying. So the Word of God is that primordial vibration which made this entire universe. It is that vibration which made this entire material world. What is matter? It is a conversion of energy. What is steam? What is ice? Ice is the frozen form of water. What is steam? It is the vaporized form of water formed by the agitation of molecules. For example, we take a hydrogen atom, we add one more atom, and it becomes helium. If we add one more atom of hydrogen to helium, it becomes lithium. And in this way we build the entire Periodic Chart.
So it is all about vibration, because the difference between solid, liquid and gas is vibration. We take ice, it is solidified, we excite it, it becomes liquid water. Ice is the solid form; when it becomes water it becomes liquid, when we further excite it, it becomes gaseous. So too, the colors that we see are ultimately all vibrations. Science too says that. What is light? It is the vibration of photons. So we see everything in the entire universe vibrating. In the center of an atom is the nucleus containing the protons and neutrons and around the nucleus the electrons are revolving. So energy is making the entire universe vibrate and the ultimate energy is the Word of God.
That is why Saint John said, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The function of the Spiritual Master is to make you aware of that Word of God, it is to make you experience that Word of God within yourself. That is why Jesus Christ said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” When Moses went to the mountain, he prayed before God, he spoke to God, Jehovah, and he requested, “I want to see you, I want to perceive you.” God said, “You cannot see me with these eyes, these eyes are physical eyes, they only see physical things.” To see spiritual things, you need a spiritual eye. You must have seen pictures of Lord Shiva with a Third Eye in the center of his forehead, because to see spirituality you have to have the divine vision. So to have divine vision, you go to a Spiritual Teacher. As Moses was requesting God to let him see Him, he saw a burning bush, and there was light emanating from the bush, and Moses perceived God in the form of light. And that is why the scriptures say, “God is Light and in Him there is no darkness.” If you study any scripture in the world, they talk about the Light of God.
In the Gayatri Mantra, in the Vedas, the sage is requesting God, ‘Oh Light, I want to meditate on you.' That is why also in the Bible it is written, “If thine eye be single, thy body shall be full of Light.” It doesn't mean that you have to take one eye out and have only one eye. It doesn't say that. It means that when your total vision is united, and when your Third Eye opens up, you perceive light, you experience light. Because God is Light, and there is no nescience, there is no darkness. Darkness has no existence. What is darkness? It is absence of light. So, I want to request you to understand the spiritual Knowledge, because this body is the Temple of God . This body is the Church of God , and within ourselves, in our breath, every breath we take, we utter the Name of God, but we do not have Knowledge,
Because we don't have Knowledge we are just behaving like the person who had a huge forest of sandalwood, and he used to burn the sandalwood and turn it into coal and sell it. Once upon a time there was a person, a woodcutter, who lived in a big forest and his function was, his livelihood was, to chop the wood, burn it, turn it into charcoal and sell the charcoal. One day the king of that land lost his way in the forest. He came across the woodcutter and asked for shelter. The woodcutter gave him a place to stay, he gave him food and shelter. The king was very happy and said, “Now you are my friend. If you ever have any problems, come to me.”
After some time, the woodcutter had cut down the entire forest, there was no wood left there, there were no trees there, so he went to the king and reminded him, “You promised to help me if I was in trouble. So I have cut down the entire forest, I need a forest, because I have to sustain my family.” So, the king consulted his advisers, and said, “My friend has come. I want to give him the best forest.” He was advised to give the woodcutter a sandalwood forest. So he was given the sandalwood forest.

Some time later the king thought, ‘My friend must be very, very rich now, because I have given him the sandalwood forest and sandalwood is the most expensive wood in the world.' So he goes to the woodcutter, and he finds out that the woodcutter is still a pauper, a poor man. The king said, “My friend, I have given you this most expensive forest, and you still are a poor man. How come?” And the woodcutter replied, “I take this sandalwood, I cut it, I burn it, I turn it into coal, and I sell it. How do you think I could be rich?” The king smiled and thought, ‘This woodcutter does not know the value of sandalwood.'
So he took a piece of sandalwood and told his friend, “Please take this piece of wood and sell it in the market”. The woodcutter said, “I can't sell a bag of its charcoal, so how can I sell this piece of wood?” The king assured him, “Don't worry. Have faith in me. Take this piece of wood and try it.” So the woodcutter takes the piece of wood, the sandalwood, and he goes into the market, and the entire market gets filled with the fragrance of the sandalwood. The merchants started saying, “Somebody has sandalwood, we want to buy it.” Somebody said, “We'll give $100 pesos for it.” Somebody said, “I'll give $200 pesos for it.” Somebody said, “You're tricking this woodcutter; it is worth more than that.” Then this piece of sandalwood was going for thousands and thousands, the woodcutter was completely astonished, because he did not have any idea about sandalwood. He was treating the sandalwood as ordinary wood, chopping that wood, burning it and turning it into charcoal.
This story might be a little bit amusing for you, but this is the story of everybody. God the Father is the king, and he has given us sandalwood. The breath we breathe in, the breath we expel, is like that sandalwood; if we do not know the importance of the sandalwood, we lose the opportunity. It is so important, this élan-vital, this breath of life is so important, that without it, we are dead. The difference between a living man and a dead man is this life breath. Without the life breath we are dead. Our friends, our relatives, will take our body to the graveyard and then begins the process of ‘from the dust you have come, to the dust you shall return'. So, the importance of this human life is to know God.
I will give you an example of a Chinese philosopher whose name was Cheng. One day he felt very sad. His pupils came to him and asked, “Master, why are you sad?” He said, “I had a dream and in my dream I became a butterfly.” So the disciples said, “The dream is over, now you are back to reality. So, in your dream if you became a butterfly, that is over, there is nothing to be sad about. Be happy now.” That philosopher said, “My problem is not over, my problem has just started. If I can have a dream, and in my dream I can be a butterfly, then a butterfly can also have a dream. And if the butterfly dreams that it has become Cheng the philosopher then my problem is whether I am really Cheng or just the dream of a butterfly!” What is truth? This is the question.
Pontius Pilate asked, “What is truth?” We are also asking, “What is truth?” And the reality is, the Spirit. That is why in every generation, in every civilization, people believed spirit to be immortal. Because energy can neither be created nor destroyed. We are sons of energy. We are sons of Light. We are daughters of Light. We are sons of God. We are daughters of God. And the spiritual part of us is eternal and immortal, it cannot be destroyed by fire, it cannot be destroyed by water. That is why in every civilization they believe spirit to be immortal.
You know, for example, that when a tree has a lot of fruit, what happens to the tree? It bows down. We go to a Spiritual Teacher, we humbly bow before him, and we seek Knowledge. That is why it has been said, ‘Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you.' So, what we have to do is find and ask.
If you want to fill a bucket of water, you have to place the bucket under a tap. You don't put the bucket on the tap, you put it under the tap. Because it is a scientific law that water flows from a higher level to a lower level. Why do we put our water tanks on the roof? Because that is the highest point, and from there the water goes to every room. In the same way, the Knowledge also flows from a higher spiritual level downwards, and that higher level is a teacher. There was never an age when the teachers were not there. God has sent his teachers to every land, to every generation. There was never a time when the world was without the Spiritual Teacher. But we have to stand, open our eyes, and see. Our Spiritual Teachers say that now you should search, and the journey of a thousand miles begins beneath your foot. So the search must start from within ourselves.
Once what happened, there was an old lady, she took a torch and was looking for something on the street. Somebody asked her, “Mother, what are you doing?” She said, “Sonny, I've lost a needle, and I'm searching for it in the street.” He asked, “Where did you lose the needle?” She said, “In my house.” So, if she lost the needle in the house and was searching on the street, how could she ever find the needle? That is why we say, we have lost ourselves and we have to find ourselves within ourselves.
Lord Kabir gives a beautiful analogy about the musk deer. Up in the Himalayas , above 10,000 feet, lives the musk deer. The deer contains very precious musk. The musk is in the kidney. He eats a lot of herbs, the herbs turn into musk, and the fragrance is very, very powerful. He smells the fragrance and he thinks maybe the musk is in a tree, or in a stone, or in the valley. So he jumps around but never finds the musk, because he doesn't know that he himself is the source of the musk. So, our Spiritual Teachers tell us that we ourselves are the source.
I have heard a story about a disciple here who saw apparitions of Mother Mary and Mother Mary requested him to build a church. He goes to a bishop, and the bishop refuses. Again and again he requests. Finally the bishop demands a miracle, and that poor man, ignorant man, opens up his robes and a lot of roses were there, even though that was not the season for roses. This story makes us believe that, if we are innocent, if we are the blessed peacemakers, then we shall inherit the earth. If we are innocent, pure in our hearts, then we shall see God.
In order to see, our spectacles must be very, very clear. If the glasses are dirty, the vision becomes blurred. Just before I started satsang, a small girl came and stood here. She was holding a camera but she was putting her finger right on the lens. So, if her finger is on the lens, how could she take a picture? In the same way, if our mind is in the maya, if our mind is in the material world, how can we take a picture of God? In order to take God's picture, first of all the camera has to be stationary, the mind has to be stationary. If the mind is vacillating, if the mind is vibrating, you will have a blurred picture. Only if the mind is stationary can you hit the target. Because the meaning of the word ‘yoga' comes from the root ‘yug', which means union. For example, when sugar and water unite, we get sweet water. When our mind and God unite, that is liberation.
What happens is that we are sitting in this hall, suddenly the mind thinks, ‘Oh, we have to go someplace and eat tacos!' or ‘I have to make a mobile call.' It's fantastic that nobody has a mobile phone ringing here, otherwise it would distract the mind. And in this technological world we have no peace of mind, not even from the mobile phone. So what we are talking about is that the mind must be stationary, otherwise it is vacillating in the world, moving in the world. So we invite everybody to know more about the Knowledge.
Christ gave the example of a farmer who goes to sows seeds. Some seeds fall onto the rocks, they do not get soil, they do not germinate, they get no water, they do not blossom. Some seeds are picked up and eaten by birds. But some seeds fall in the earth, they get water, they get sunlight and they blossom. So, in the same way, when our heart is like the soil, when we have the water of love, when we have the water of devotion, then the seed of Knowledge will germinate.
So, I am very, very thankful to all of you and I welcome everybody to participate in this, to understand this, because Christ said, “I shall give you the understanding to understand scriptures.” The rabbis too were reading the scriptures, but they did not have the understanding to understand scriptures. So when you receive Knowledge, you get the understanding to understand scriptures. The hidden meaning of the scriptures will come before you.
We have the word ‘GOD'. There is the letter ‘G', there is the letter ‘O', and there is the letter ‘D'. ‘G' stands for ‘generator', the power that generates, that power that has created everything. ‘O' stands for ‘operator', the power that operates, and ‘D' stands for ‘destroyer'. Just like we have the anabolic, catabolic, and metabolic process. And that energy which is sustaining, operating and destroying everything is that supreme energy that we call God. So, what God requires is love. If we take one step towards Him, He takes ten steps towards us.
One day a man was walking along the beach and he noticed that two footprints were there. So, he spoke to God and said, “God, whenever I was in misery, whenever I was sad, whenever I was unhappy, it was like walking on the beach and I was all alone. All I saw on the beach were my footprints.” God said, “No, those footprints belong to me, they are my footprints, because I picked you up. When you were unhappy, when you were in misery, I lifted you up. Those footprints belong to me; you didn't even know that I was carrying you.”
So, the spiritual hand of God is within you, it is sustaining you, it is inviting you, it is calling you. It is providing you with this beautiful spiritual opportunity to know Him. So, what I am requesting you to do is to participate in satsang, spiritual discussion, and the more we listen to satsang, the more we listen to spiritual discourses, the more our heart opens up. When a farmer plants his seeds, there are other unwanted plants that grow there, he has to dig out the weeds, so that the real crops can grow. In the same way as the farmer prepares the field, the heart of a disciple is prepared by spiritual discourses, so that he receives Knowledge. So, I invite you again and again to listen to satsang. We have some literature available for you and some cassettes also and some magazines, so that you may expand your knowledge. And, when you are ready, then you will receive the Knowledge. So, I thank you very much. Muchas gracias.

5] Vishuddhi (Cervical Plexux)
It is the Chakra of diplomacy, of pure relationships with others and of playful detachment. It removes all our guilt and remorse when it is opened by the kundalini, and gives us a kind and compassionate voice. The tendencies to dominate others or to feel dominated by others, the feeling of superiority or inferiority and all jealousies are removed when this chakra is nourished by the kundalini. Also the vishuddhi is the chakra, which gives the connection with the whole, enabling us to feel our oneness and the fact that we are all part and parcel of the whole.

4] Anahat (Cardiac Plexus):
Sense of security, safety, responsibility, self confidence and pure behavior. It is from our heart that compassion and love manifests, and also the heart chakra is the one that gives us the sense of responsibility and pure behavior towards others. The heart Chakra manifests in the centre (at the level of the stemum bone) as complete security and confidence. All our worries, doubts and fears are destroyed when the heart chakra is fully enlightened by the Kundalini. On the physical level, this chakra looks after our heart and lungs - if affected it can cause asthma or various heart conditions.

3] Nabhi (Colic Plexus):
It is one that gives us the sense of generosity, complete satisfaction and contentment. On the left side, the main quality of this centre is peace - clearing this chakra can relieve stress and tensions. On the right hand side, it looks after our liver which is the organ of our attention and power of concentration. When enlightened by the Kundlini, the Nabhi Chakra gives us our spiritual ascent, righteousness and inner sense of mortality, and complete balance at all levels in our life.

2] Swadisthan (Aortic Plexus):
This Chakra is of creativity, pure attention and pure knowledge. It is the one, which connects us to the inner source of inspiration, and enables us to experience the beauty around us. The pure knowledge given by this chakra is not mental, but it is direct perception of the reality, that can be felt in our palms and indicates our subtle blockages. Also this is the centre of pure, steady attention and power of concentration. On the physical level it looks after our Liver, Kidneys, and the Lower Abdomen; when we think too much, this centre gets drained of energy and diseases like diabetes or blood cancer can occur when this chakra goes completely out of balance.

1] Mooladhar (Pelvic Plexus):
The first Chakra is situated below the sacrum bone in which resides the kundalini energy, and its main aspect is innocence. Innocence is the quality by which we experience pure, childlike joy, without the limitations. Innocence gives us dignity, balance and a tremendous sense of direction and purpose in life. It is nothing but simplicity, purity, and joy. It is the inner wisdom that is ever present in little children, and gets somtimes clouded by our modern lifestyles. But it is a quality, which exixts eternally within us and cannot be destroyed, waiting to be manifest as pure joy when the kundalini rises.

GOD PROTECTS THOSE WHO REMEMBER HIM WITH A TRUE HEART

Our saints said,
“ Sath sudharahin satsangat pai. Paras paras kudhatu suhai .”
Both the arrogant and ignorant person can be transformed by satsang. Even notorious sinners get transformed by listening to spiritual discourse. But if you spend your life only to listening, like a thirsty man listening to a discussion about water, then your thirst may simply go on increasing. To quench your thirst, you have to drink water. So a person usually listens to spiritual discourse but he needs to know as well. Without knowing true love does not bloom. This is the time to know.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji also says,
“ Jaago re jin jaagana, ab jaagan ki baar.
Phir kya jaage Nanaka jab sowe paavn pasaar.”
Wake up, those who want to awake! This is the time to awake. In death one lies outstretched and cannot be awakened. When the Master comes to awaken us, we react using our mind and intellect and say, “Oh, how can we know, we don't have time, we lead very busy lives!” Now, just think about the day when all of us have to leave or abandon our body. Then all your busy schedules will come to an abrupt halt.
It is said,
“Bina vichare jo kare, so paachhe pachhtaay.
Kam bigare apno, jag mein hot hansaay.

When one does something without giving due thought they only repent later. They create a mess for themselves and invite rebuke and are laughed at . We must ask ourselves, why are we living in this human form? The fact is that we have got this human body to acquire spiritual knowledge, to meditate and for nothing else. Why are people so disturbed? What is the reason for this? There are people who don't know how much wealth they possess, yet they all are so disturbed that they need to take sleeping pills and still are unable to sleep.
St. Tulsidasji said,
“ Arab kharab loun sampada, uday asta loun raj.
Jo Tulsi nij maran hai, awey koune kaj.”
You may be a billionaire and your empire may stretch from sunrise to sunset, but what worth is all when you have to die anyway! All the money in the world can't buy peace. You come into this world empty-handed and so shall you go the same way. Many great Masters were born on this earth, but it is only after they had departed, that people recognised and accepted them. So all scriptures say that only a living ruler, doctor and Spiritual Master can come to our rescue. If you ask the Living Master, you will definitely get Spiritual Knowledge.
There was a devotee who lost all interest in the world and abandoned his family and home. This is a true story. His two daughters were getting married on the same day. A telegram was sent to him announcing the date of their wedding and asking him to come. But he did not go. If the bride's father is not present on such an occasion, then it is not taken in good light. If the father is dead, then it is okay but if he is alive then it is expected that he attends. However, his brothers felt that these two girls were like their own daughters. They did everything so that absence of their father would not be felt. In reality it was the Almighty who accomplished everything through the brothers. They had been poor but within four months they became so wealthy that they were able to spend rupees thousands over on the wedding. And even afterwards the brothers grew richer. When I heard this story, I thought, ‘God, people do not have faith in You, while You do everything for those who surrender to You.' I was told that the wedding went so well that nobody noticed or felt the father's absence. In fact, the wedding was as splendid as that of a wealthy businessman. Although they were poor God made them so rich and capable enough within four months that they made magnificent arrangements for their nieces' wedding. In reality, God definitely listens to those who remember Him.
Look, these are true stories and not imaginary. When a devotee remembers God with a sincere heart, God protects him. So know the Holy Name of God which is within everyone's heart, and which is revealed by the living Perfect Master.

“ Jab jab hohin dharma ki hani, barhahin asur adham abhimani. Tab tab Prabhu dhari manuj sharira, harahin kripanidhi sajjan pira .”
